We'll try again in 5 minutes...

Life is a struggle for (and with!) students with challenging behaviors.

Is it because they don't know what the expected behaviors are? Is it because they don't care what is expected of them? Is it because they know and care but don't have the skill set or stamina to exhibit the expected behaviors?

I've been doing this gig a long time, and I've never met a student who didn't want SOMETHING...a friend, an adult protector, the ability to do math like her/his peers. Why is it so difficult to figure out the currency of these students?

It's my task to prepare these students to return to general education classrooms with their peers. The problem is, I can't figure out what skills they need to be able to reintegrate successfully. Maybe I'm trying too hard?

Can it really be as simple as Cursive and Kindness?
